Producer Rai Hands Over Running Trophy to His Home District


Film producer Jyotiraj Rai, the coordinator of the Indigenous People’s Native Language Film Promotion Committee under the Nepal Film Development Board, awarded the running trophy for the ‘Seventh Belbari Arju Rice International Invitational Gold Cup.’ The trophy was presented during a press conference held at Belbari Municipality on Sunday.

According to Rai, the trophy was donated by him and his family members—Popiraj Rai, Pabitra Rai, Sarla Rai, and Nanu Rai—in memory of his father, Major N. B. Rungmahang Rai. The trophy is adorned with 2 tolas of gold and 2.5 kilograms of silver. Rai stated at the press conference that it cost around 8 lakh rupees to prepare the trophy. The organizers mentioned that any team winning the trophy three times consecutively would be awarded a cash amount equivalent to its value.

The Mayor of Belbari Municipality, Dil Prasad Rai, was the chief guest at the press conference. The trophy was unveiled by producer Jyotiraj Rai and handed over to LX City Football Club President, Bikram Bantwa Rai, and Mayor Dil Prasad Rai. On this special occasion, producer Rai expressed his pride in contributing to his birthplace.

The “Seventh Belbari Arju Rice International Invitational Gold Cup” will take place from October 11th to October 19th at Belbari Lakshmi Khel Maidan, Lakshmi Marg, Morang. The tournament, organized by LX City Football Club, is expected to encourage local athletes and sports enthusiasts.
