Kathmandu. Acclaimed director Milan Chams known for his diverse range of films such as Bir Bikram, Lily Bily, Blind Rocks, Bobby, Gorkha Warrior, and Anjila is set to direct a new romantic film titled Sumnima. Actor Kunsang Bomjan has officially joined the cast as the lead.
Expressing his excitement, Bomjan stated that working with a director of Chams’ caliber is a matter of great pride for him. He also shared that Sumnima will be his debut film, and he is fully committed to proving himself through this opportunity. The film is expected to be a stepping stone in his acting career.
Though the title Sumnima might suggest a female-centric story, director Chams clarified that the film will focus on a pure love story. The movie will be jointly produced by Gorkha Films and Chams Entertainment. Actress Upasana Singh Thakuri has already been confirmed as the female lead.
Casting for the remaining roles and assembling the technical crew are currently underway. According to Chams, Sumnima will feature a universal storyline with international market appeal.
Written by Rajiv Thapa, the film is scheduled to be shot in both London and Nepal this coming August. Chams’ previous directorial, Anjila, was a massive box office success and holds the record for the highest-grossing Nepali biopic to date.
