Gopikrishna Receives National Digital Media Film Journalism Award


Kathmandu — Gopikrishna Chapagain, who has been actively involved in Nepali arts journalism for over a decade, has been honored with the National Digital Media Film Journalism Award 2081. The award was presented to him during the Second National Digital Media Award 2081, organized by News Express Media on Wednesday, recognizing his significant contribution to entertainment journalism.

At the ceremony, Chapagain received the award from Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar, Member of Parliament Ganesh Parajuli, President of the Online TV Journalists’ Association Jeevan Bhandari, among other distinguished guests.

After receiving the award, journalist Chapagain shared that there is still much more for him to do and learn in the field of digital media. “This kind of award has motivated me but, at the same time, made me feel even more responsible. Since there are many digital media platforms today, it is essential to stand out and build credibility among the audience,” said Chapagain. He also expressed his gratitude to the organizers for recognizing him as deserving of this award.

Under the Second National Digital Media Award 2081, senior journalist Harihar Birahi was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Likewise, journalists Jagadish Kharel, Thakur Belbase, Mamata Thapa, Rohit Bhandari, Sanjeev, Keshavraj Joshi, Navaraj, Bhojraj, and others were also recognized at the event.
