Kavita Nepali Choreographs Song in Sci-Fi Film Eklo


Kathmandu — The shooting of the Nepali science fiction film Eklo has been completed. According to director Pradeep Shahi, the final song sequence was recently filmed, marking the wrap-up of the entire production. The song was shot on a grand set in Kathmandu.

One of the film’s lead actors, Kavita Nepali, is featured in the song, which is sung by Swapnil Sharma with music composed by Rohit Shakya. The choreography for the song has also been done by Kavita Nepali herself. Executive producer Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’ shared that the song is scheduled to be released during Dashain.

Eklo is a rare science fiction film in Nepali cinema, with actor Pradeep Khadka in the lead role. Post-production is currently underway in London, and the film is being prepared for release during Christmas in the Nepali month of Poush.

The previously released teaser featured Pradeep Khadka alongside Vijay Lama, Diya Pun, Kavita Nepali, Jamie Bacon, and Benisha Hamal, among others. The film has already marked its presence in the market section of the Cannes Film Festival, drawing international attention.

Director Shahi, who has already directed two films, has been residing in the UK for a long time. He aims to present Eklo with Hollywood-level technology and production standards.

The main cast includes Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kavita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Awan Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’, Arushjung Saru Magar, Shreeshesh Shrestha, child actor Jemin Shrestha, and Syon Savik Singh. British actor Jamie Bacon will also appear in the film.

Producers of the film include Rajkumar Gurung, Hari Shrestha, Bishnu Tamang, Utsav Bista, Bhairaja Thapa, Navin Sewa, Bagbir Pun, Bhuvan Adhikari, Sangita Wadi Shrestha, Ritesh Rana, Sushil Prajapati, and Shashikala Gurung, with Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’ serving as the executive producer.

On the technical side, cinematography is handled by Babu Shrestha, action direction by Raju Tamang, set design by Raju Painter, art direction by Santosh Lama, and production design by Dronaprasad Paudel ‘Theuke’.
