Kathmandu — Popular comedian Kedar Ghimire, known as “Magne Buda,” is set to step away from his usual Chhakka Panja projects and work under a different banner. Shortly after signing on for Jerry on Top, starring Anmol KC, Ghimire has now been cast in a new project by director Rishi Lamichhane.
The official agreement between Magne Buda and Rishi Lamichhane was signed on Thursday, though the film’s title remains undisclosed. Ghimire is expected to play a significant role, with the film produced by Munal Ghimire. Director Lamichhane stated that casting for additional actors is ongoing.
The movie, produced under Aarambha Productions, will center on a social storyline in a comedic style. Filming is expected to begin in mid-winter, around January-February, with the screenplay penned by Samipya Timalsena.
This marks Lamichhane’s directorial return after eight years since Kismat 2. It is also a comeback project for producer Munal Ghimire, who previously produced films like Aafno Manche Afnai Huncha and Shriman Shrimati. Coincidentally, both Lamichhane and Ghimire are making a return to the industry after eight years with this project.
