‘Koshedhunga’ Set to Release in Over 40 Countries Worldwide

According to Ramesh Dhakal, director of Seven Seas International, this is the first time in the history of Nepali cinema in the diaspora that a film will be released simultaneously in 40 countries


Kathmandu. The much-anticipated Nepali film Koshedhunga, scheduled for release on Bhadra 12 (August 18), will have a simultaneous premiere in more than 40 countries, including Nepal.

Directed by Saroj Paudel, known for the blockbuster Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, Koshedhunga will be released in countries such as the USA, Australia, Japan, the UK, and Canada, among many others.

The international distribution of Koshedhunga is being handled by Seven Seas International, led by Patrick Subedi and Ramesh Dhakal. According to the production team, the film will be released globally on the same date.

“Our film will be released simultaneously in more than 40 countries. We are still in talks with distributors in additional countries, and more territories are expected to be added before the release,” said director Paudel.

According to Ramesh Dhakal, director of Seven Seas International, this is the first time in the history of Nepali cinema in the diaspora that a film will be released simultaneously in 40 countries, marking a significant milestone for the industry.

The team hopes Koshedhunga will help elevate Nepali cinema to new international heights.

The film was shot in Aadhikhola, Triveni, and Sirubari of Syangja district, with additional scenes filmed on a specially constructed set in Kathmandu. Set in a rural village backdrop, the movie tells an original and culturally rooted story.

The first look poster of the film, released some time ago, featured actress Sujata Pant portraying a rural woman wrapped in a traditional shawl, offering a glimpse into the film’s authentic village setting.

Presented by Nardevi Films, Koshedhunga stars Sujata Pant, Aryan Sigdel, Richa Sharma, Manzil Kumar, Niti Shah, Praveen Khatiwada, Hiuwala Gautam, Saroj Khanal, Bishal Pahadi, Dinesh Kafle, and Lokmani Sapkota, among others.

The film is produced by Prebil Kandel and Kishor Anurag, with Dinesh Khadka serving as executive producer. Cinematography is by Babu Shrestha, editing by Nahakul Khadka, and music composed by Ashish Aviral and Rhythm Kandel. The film’s casting director is Subalmani Sapkota.
