Kathmandu — The Nepali film Antim Sanskar, directed by Pradeep Shahi, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. While the film had an average run at Nepal’s box office, it received positive reviews from critics.
The cast includes Vijay Lama, Diya Pun, Reshma Ghimire, Awanraj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Bishal Pahari, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Shyam Rai, Pasang Lama, Bikash Adhikari, Saroj Khaling Rai, Sasmita Giri, Diggaj Khatri, Saroj Kumal, and Dharmananda Acharya, among others.
Shahi’s debut directorial film, 1915: Legend of Gorkhas, is also available on Amazon Prime. His third film, Eklo, is currently in the final stages of editing.
Produced under the banner of Sai Production Nepal in collaboration with Hamsayer Accountant, the film’s executive producers are Bhairaja Thapa, Raju Kumar Gurung, Suman Rai, Utsav Bista, and Rabindra Shrestha. Kshitiz Vinod Subedi serves as the producer. Based on a social and cultural backdrop, the story also incorporates an intriguing “murder mystery” element.
The cinematography is by Babu Shrestha, editing by Rupesh Gurung, and production design by Prem Khadka.
