Kathmandu: Renowned Nepali filmmaker Dinesh Raut, who last directed Poojar Sarki, has announced his eighth feature film titled Mahabhoj. On Monday, Raut unveiled this ambitious project and its impressive lineup of actors through social media.
The film will star celebrated actors such as Dayahang Rai, Aryan Sigdel, Khagendra Lamichhane, Miruna Magar, Anjana Baraili, Malika Mahat, Anup Bikram Shahi, Buddhi Tamang, and Kamal Mani Nepal in key roles. Produced by Himal Kadariya, known for films like Nanglo Gaun and Dukhi Atma, Mahabhoj will be a collaboration between Kadariya’s Clock Work Creation and Raut’s Picture Frame.
According to Raut, Mahabhoj is a rebellious tale against those who exploit the lives and trust of ordinary people. “Through this film, we aim to present a story that stands in solidarity with common people, upholding their faith, fighting for truth, and raising a voice against injustice,” shared Raut.
The film’s screenplay, written by Bikash Subedi, promises a compelling narrative. Shooting is set to begin on January 14, with RR Films handling distribution.
