Kathmandu: Actress Suhana Thapa has been signed for the movie Paralko Aago, based on the literary work of renowned Nepali writer Guru Prasad Mainali. Producer Sushil Pokharel of Hari Om Cine Makers officially signed Suhana for the project on Friday. The Mainali Katha Puraskar Trust recently granted permission to Hari Om Cine Makers to adapt the story into a film. Paralko Aago is one of the stories from Mainali’s acclaimed anthology Naso.
Expressing her excitement after joining the project, Suhana said, “It is a privilege for me to work in such an iconic literary piece. That’s why I decided to sign a movie outside my home production for the first time.”
According to producer Pokharel, the film is set to release during Dashain 2082. Interestingly, a movie under the same title was made 45 years ago by director Pratap Subba. However, this new adaptation promises fresh perspectives in terms of location, presentation, and screenplay. Directed by Laxman Sunar, the movie is scheduled to begin shooting in Falgun.
The story of Paralko Aago revolves around the conflicts and disputes between two characters, Chame and Gauthali, showcasing their dynamic relationships and struggles.
