Bikram Joshi’s ‘Kama’ to Release in the UK and Ireland


Kathmandu – The British film Kama, directed by Bhimsen Lama, is set for a simultaneous release in the UK and Ireland. Scheduled to hit over 260 cinemas on March 7, the film is described as a suspenseful action thriller.

Shot in various locations across the UK, Kama explores the extent to which a person can go for betrayal and revenge. Its trailer has already captivated audiences. The film features Hollywood actors Matt Wakeford, Jemima Tomes, and Mia Bennett, alongside South Indian actress Pooja Gupta and Nepali actor Tank Dhama in lead roles. The film is executive produced by Bikram Joshi, with Hiral Joshi as the producer and MG Amin and Ishwar Shrestha as co-producers. The story was originally written by the late Bisarad Basnet, while the script was penned by Hiral Joshi, Bikram Joshi, and Laxman Subedi.

Targeting the international market, Kama won four prestigious awards at the Milan International Filmmaker Festival, including Best Film, Best Script, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Additionally, at the Madrid International Film Festival 2024, it bagged awards for Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor. The film has also been nominated in several other festivals.

Bikram Joshi, an actor and producer based in the UK for a long time, has previously produced films such as Password, Happy Days, Hello Zindagi, and The Secret of Radha. The production team has announced that Kama will soon be released in cinemas across the USA, Australia, Canada, and other countries. Additionally, it will be screened in India in Hindi and in Nepal in Nepali after some time.
