Film ‘Stri’ Officially Launched, Featuring the Pair Salon and Namrata


Kathmandu – On the occasion of Rishi Panchami, the Nepali film Stri was officially launched today with a special ceremony held at Ganeshsthan Temple, Kamaladi. The event began with traditional rituals and a special camera worship. Written and directed by Jivan Shahi, the film is set to go on floors from Bhadra 14 (August/September) with a 35-day shooting schedule around the Kathmandu Valley, according to the director.

Produced under the banner of Mela Recording Studio by Samir Rai, Stri will be directed by Jivan Shahi. The screenplay, based on Shahi’s own story, has been developed by Shahi himself along with Kishan Aryal. Cinematography will be handled by Ramsharan Upreti, with music composed by Babul Giri. The crew also includes Production Manager Kebalman Singh Basnet, Project Manager Subas Kafle, Action Director Dev Maharjan, Chief Assistant Director Chandra Bhandari, and Makeup Artist Shyam Baral.

The film’s co-producers are Sahadev Bisht, Pramod Bhattarai Pratik, Rita Shrestha, and Manju Rajbanshi. Having already directed hundreds of music videos, Shahi expressed that Stri marks his debut feature film and he is fully committed to giving his best effort to make it a quality production.

Based on a social theme, the film stars Pramod Agrahari, Salon Basnet, Rista Basnet, and Namrata Shrestha in lead roles, with child actor Dipson Chilwal also part of the cast. Costume design will be done by Sukanita Chaulagai.

The launch ceremony was attended by Basanta Bityasi Thapa, President of the Songwriters’ Association, and Santosh Babu Lohani, Spokesperson of the Film Development Board, among other special guests.
