First Look of ‘Maitighar’ Unveiled; Set for Dashain Phulpati Release


Kathmandu. The first look poster of the upcoming Nepali film Maitighar, produced under the banner of Rohit Adhikari Films, has been officially released. The poster features the main cast members, offering a glimpse into the film’s tone and theme.

Directed by Milan Tamang, Maitighar is backed by producers Rabin Sherchan and Dhiraj Tamang. Ishwar Shrestha and Niraj Katwal serve as the executive producers.

Presented by Rohit Adhikari, the film is based on a story by Chandrakumar Dong, with cinematography by Sushan Prajapati, screenplay and dialogues by Ramsharan Pathak, and editing by Surendra Paudel. The film features songs written by Kiran Kharel, Kumar Syangba, and Ram Aviral, with music composed by Chandrakumar Dong, Alish Karki, S.D. Yogi, and the late Jaydev. Action choreography is by Asht Maharjan, and the trailer is cut by Sahil Khan.

Maitighar is scheduled to release on Ashoj 13, coinciding with Phulpati during the Dashain festival.

The ensemble cast includes Kedar Ghimire, Dhiraj Magar, Prakash Saput, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Shyamashree Sherpa, Buddhi Tamang, Yubaraj Lama, Shishir Wangdel, Rajani Gurung, Santosh Shahi, Phoolkumar Bamjam, and Sangita Thapa, among others.

The first look poster aims to reflect the essence of the characters, with a brightly lit home in the background symbolizing “Maitighar”—a maternal home. The film also highlights stories rooted in Tamang culture, offering a cultural narrative alongside emotional storytelling.
