Prakash Saput Directed ‘Basant’ Releases New Song ‘Herdai Aankha Ma’


Kathmandu – The new song Herdai Aankha Ma from the movie Basant, directed by singer and actor Prakash Saput, has been released. Shot in various locations across Nepal and in Goa, India, the song features Prakash Saput and actress Swastima Khadka in a romantic avatar. The movie Basant is set to release on Chaitra 22 (April 4).

According to director Saput, Herdai Aankha Ma conveys the message of uniting people beyond caste, religion, and class differences. The song, released on Sunday, portrays the protagonist Basant marrying according to different religious and cultural traditions, which, according to the director, highlights the film’s storyline. The song features vocals by Sugam Pokharel and Samikshya Adhikari, with musical arrangement by Yogesh Kaji Shah. The lyrics, music, and direction are by Prakash Saput, while Sushan Prajapat handled the cinematography. The choreography was done by KBK Khatri, and Prabin Bhatt edited the song.

The film Basant stars Prakash Saput, Swastima Khadka, Prabhat Pal Thakuri, Shri Shivanshi, Urmila Lamgade, Khadka Bahadur Pun, Anup Baral, Kamalmani Nepal, Prakash Ghimire, and Bishal Pahari, among others.

Produced under the banner of Galbandi Production, the social drama Basant has its story, screenplay, and music crafted by director Saput himself. The movie portrays the journey of a young man from the underprivileged Bishwakarma community who dreams of becoming a writer and the struggles he faces to achieve his goal.

The producers of the movie are Mohan Bishwakarma and Bindu Bohora, while the executive producers include Anurodh Bhattarai, Nana Thakali, and Birendra Narayan Shrestha. The film was shot in various locations, including Baglung, Kathmandu, and different parts of the Terai region.
