Lineup of Human Rights International Film Festival Unveiled


Kathmandu : The lineup for the Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival has been announced. On Wednesday, the festival revealed a list of selected films across categories such as documentaries, shorts, animations, and fiction. According to the organizers, 47 films from 23 countries, including Nepal, have been selected for the event.

The festival features notable films such as All We Imagine as Light by Payal Kapadia, the Grand Jury Prize winner at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival; The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent, an award-winning short; An Outrun, awarded in the short section at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival; Anar Dana, a Generation Kplus award recipient at the same festival; and Otit, which was also selected at Berlin. Additionally, nine short documentaries, including How to Please, have been shortlisted for the international short documentary competition.

Established in 2009, the Human Rights Film Center has been regularly organizing this festival to promote and showcase films related to human rights. The center also conducts various discussions and workshops to advocate for human rights.
