
Kathmandu: Rakesh Shah is a Nepali lyricist and producer. Born in Lahan, Nepal, he currently resides in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. He is the founder of Adarsh Productions, a production company dedicated to creating music videos, web series, and feature films in the Nepali and Maithili languages.
Shah earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus, affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, India. He later completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Construction Project Management from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Alongside his professional career in engineering, Shah has remained actively involved in the Nepali and Maithili entertainment industries. Drawing on his expertise in construction project management, he has successfully integrated professional planning and management practices into film and digital content production.
As a lyricist, he has written songs including “Ke Timi Malai Maya Garchhau” and “Kasari Bhanu Timilai.”
As a producer through Adarsh Productions, he has produced several Nepali music videos, including “Nyano Saath,” “Kasari Bhanu Timilai,” “Ke Timi Malai Maya Garchhau,” and “Jane Manche Gaihalchha Chhoder.” He has also produced Maithili music videos such as “Chehra Ya Chandani Gori,” “Priyatam Ke Haath,” “Jawani Kaafi,” “Chalu Apan Desh,” and “Aaha Ke Chehra.”
Beyond music production, Shah is actively involved in digital content and filmmaking. He served as the Creative Producer of the Nepali and Maithili web series “Aarti.” He is also the producer of the multilingual feature film “Prativairam,” which is being produced in Nepali, Maithili, Hindi, and Bhojpuri.
Through Adarsh Productions, Shah continues to produce original music videos, web series, and feature films in Nepali and Maithili. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous artists, singers, filmmakers, and creative professionals, making a significant contribution to the growth of the entertainment industry.
Currently based in the United Kingdom, Shah works in the field of construction project management while remaining actively involved in the planning, development, and production of entertainment projects in Nepal. By combining his engineering expertise with his creative vision, he aims to introduce modern technology and professional management practices into the Nepali film and digital content industry.
