Birendra Bhatt Appointed as Member of the Film Development Board


Kathmandu – Cinematographer Birendra Bhatt has been appointed as a member of the Film Development Board. He was appointed on Thursday through a ministerial-level decision by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. On the same day, he received his appointment letter from Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.

After receiving the appointment letter, Bhatt expressed his commitment to promoting the Nepali film industry, contributing to policy-making, and engaging in global publicity through digital platforms during his tenure on the board.

Bhatt has been active in the film industry for a long time as a technician. Born in Doti district, he has worked as a cinematographer in more than half a dozen feature films, including Dhun, Aarop, and Chihan.

Earlier, producer, director, and actor Santosh Babu Lohani was appointed as a board member. One member position on the board still remains vacant.
