Kathmandu. The teaser of the Nepali film Bam Bahadur, starring actor Saugat Malla in the lead role, has been officially released. The teaser reveals the movie’s release date as Poush 5 (December 20, 2024). The film is set to premiere simultaneously in Nepal and India.
The teaser emphasizes a strong message: “Let us fight not with kukri and guns, but with intellect. An educated society cannot be oppressed. It can stand as its own voice and shape its future.”
Director John Rai shared that Bam Bahadur serves as a digital documentation of the struggles faced by the Nepali community in India. He explained that the film is not just entertaining but also carries a powerful message, offering viewers a blend of suspense, thrill, romance, and social drama. The story revolves around how events from four decades ago in the life of the protagonist, Bam Bahadur, cast a long shadow over his present.
Producer Sanjiv Sarki stated that the film aims to preserve the history of the community so that future generations do not forget their roots.
Produced under the banner of Bist Brothers Films Pvt. Ltd., the movie features an ensemble cast including Saugat Malla, Prashant Rai, Anisha Rasaily, Bhaskar Pradhan, Mahendra Bagdas, Madan Bhujel, Bharat Basishtha, Ajay Pradhan, Shantila Tamang, Riya Bhujel, child actor Basista Karki, Suresh Panchakoti, and more.
The film’s screenplay and story are penned by John Rai and Rupesh Tamang. Cinematography is handled by Sujoy Kumar Ghosh (Munna), while Gyan Gurung takes charge of editing. The music and songs are composed by Dipankar Singh Mukhia, with music arrangement and background score by Ijaz Ali. The line producer is Prakash Hamal, colorist Kunal Kunwar, and sound mixer Mukesh Shah.
The distribution of Bam Bahadur will be managed by Rich Entertainment and FD Company, with post-production carried out at Classic Cine Universe in Nepal and Healing Octaves Studio in India.
