Kathmandu – The trailer for the film Draupadi, based on the daily struggles of the Karnali region, has been officially released. Written and directed by Rishiraj Acharya, the three-minute trailer captures the beauty, hardships, and daily life of Karnali. Following the success of its teaser and the song Karnali Kataula, the film’s trailer has been unveiled ahead of its release on Chaitra 8.
Even before its release, Draupadi has been selected for several international film festivals. The movie has been shot in various locations across Karnali, including the breathtaking Shey Phoksundo Lake in Dolpa. The emotionally compelling trailer features lead actor and director Rishiraj Acharya, along with lead actress Ashwini Shahi, singer Ravi Oad, Sujata Timilsina, Kabiraj Bham, Jelsen Adhikari, Bishnu Thadarai, Prakash Gyawali, Sita Baudel, Suraj Adhikari, and others.
The film’s screenplay is penned by Acharya himself, with editing by Anil Maharjan, background score by Saurabh Sharma, and cinematography by Mohankumar Jhillu. The film’s songs feature vocals by Ravi Oad and Indrakala Rai.
Produced under the RB Movies banner, Draupadi is co-produced by Ritu Acharya and Bishnu Thadarai, while Rishiraj Acharya and Prakash Gyawali serve as the main producers. The film’s distribution is being handled jointly by Apple Entertainment, FD Company, and Rich Entertainment.
