Kathmandu. Popular Nepali actors Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula, who are currently on their “Chhakka Panja Comedy Tour” in the United States, inaugurated the ‘New Super Cut Hair & Beauty Salon’ during a special ceremony held in Texas on Saturday. They were accompanied at the event by fellow artist Mahadev Tripathi. On the occasion, Deepak and Deepa also experienced the salon’s hair cutting and coloring services firsthand.
The salon has been established and is operated by Surendra Thakur. Speaking at the inauguration, Deepak Raj Giri highlighted the importance of hairstyle in shaping a person’s personality, urging everyone to give attention to their personal grooming. He expressed happiness seeing a Nepali-owned salon expanding across various U.S. locations while maintaining quality services.
Similarly, actress Deepa Shree Niraula expressed her trust in the salon’s high-quality services and encouraged Nepalis residing in the U.S. to benefit from them.
‘New Super Cut’ salon was first launched in Kumaripati, Lalitpur, and later expanded its first branch to Civil Mall, Sundhara, Kathmandu. With the opening of its new branch in Texas, the salon has now taken its services to an international level. This is the second branch in the U.S.
Salon owner Surendra Thakur has been involved in this profession for 25 years, actively offering hair cutting, coloring, and massage services for both men and women. He is supported in the business by his wife Sunita Thakur. The first U.S. branch of the salon was inaugurated by veteran actor Rajesh Hamal, with overall event management handled by Mahadev Tripathi.
As part of their U.S. tour, Deepak and Deepa recently performed at the ‘MOM Festival 2025—Dashain Tihar Mela’ held in Texas. The event also featured performances by comedian Jitu Nepal, singers Prem Raja Mahat, Asmita Adhikari, Mahesh Kafle, and other renowned artists. The comedy duo has several more shows scheduled during their U.S. tour.
